Some news and notes:
(A "full insanity" would be 24 hours of straight chess, which Shirley has also organized in the past - see my email "Surely you can't be serious", where I talked about this one: http://archive.aweber.com/tacticstime/NQf6X/h/A_24_Hour_Insanity_Tournament_.htm) The time control was G/20 with a 16 second increment (20+16 for the year 2016 which I thought was clever), and was held at a local Denny's. Chris Peterson put his 2198 rating on the line, and was able to maintain that rating, but was still fractional points away from making it to Master after all the smoke cleared. You can see the final results here: http://www.uschess.org/msa/XtblMainFP.php?201601023332-12718954 Thanks Shirley for organizing a fun event to start the new year!
