his position comes from my game played last weekend at the Colorado Springs Open, Round 1, against Tom Needham.
In the position on the right it is Black to move.
Answer below.
Happy PI Day! This year's PI Day is especially interesting, because it is 2015, so has 3.1415 (March 14, 2015). Today there is a special tournament being held in Colorado called the "Zombie Apocalypse" where they served pie to all of the participants at 3/14/2015 at 9:26:53 AM following the sequence of pi (3.141592653). I thought this was great! This tournament is also very special, because they were giving free USCF memberships to the first 15 people who signed up who qualified as "zombies". You can see the tournament details here: http://www.coloradochess.com/newtourn.shtml#920 A zombie is any USCF player that has been inactive for 5 years (1 year for juniors). An adult player who has played a single tournament in 5 years also qualifies. Every zombie gets free entry fee, a 1 year CSCA membership and a 1 year USCF membership. I thought this was a great idea to get players who used to be active in chess back into it. The Denver Chess Club has been coming up with some really creative ideas lately. This is a really good one, that I would like to see spread across the country. The club even made T-shirts, and a logo, which you can see here: https://denverchess.com/tournaments/tla/firstzombieapocalypse Great job DCC helping to promote chess and celebrate PI day!

Answer:
After 23...Rbg8 Black threatens checkmate and a skewer of King and Rook with 24...Rg1+. White cannot stop both threats, and resigned. Life Master Joel Johnson liked this game a lot, and is going to put it in his upcoming book "Attacking 101 Volume 5", which I thought was cool! Happy Tactics!
Your Friend,
P.S. Bobby Fischer's birthday was this past week on March 9. He would have been 72. Here is a 6 minute YouTube video of him with Bob Hope that is really funny and great, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSWau3pTyIg and I think you will enjoy.
