his position comes from my game played this past weekend at the Bobby Fischer Memorial against Joshua Jex.
In the position on the right it is Black to move.
Answer below.
This past weekend, I played in the Bobby Fischer Memorial in Monument, Colorado, which is between Colorado Springs and Denver.
This was the 5th Bobby Fischer tournament held there, run by the Gentlemen's Chess Club.
I cannot say enough what a great job these guys do running their tournaments. If there was a "best practices" guide by USCF on how to run a tournament, these guys would be a perfect case study.
Everything about the tournament is great
The gentlemen's chess club is the "gold standard" for chess in Colorado. Keep up the great work guys!
Their next tournament is the Salute to Boris Spassky, which is a new event.
Funny side story: I got to see Spassky a few years ago in Reno. I was in an elevator with my good friends Paul Grimm, Francisco Baltier and Shannon Fox, when Spassky and his wife got in the same elevator as us. Shannon and I looked at each other with "bug eyes" like "HOLY COW"! Grimm and Francisco had NO IDEA who it was lol.

Answer:
Josh and I have been playing the same tournaments together for years. We have played together at the Denver Chess Club, various Colorado weekend tournaments, and even out of state tournaments in Las Vegas, Reno and we shared a room in Minneapolis for the HB Global Challenge in 2005. But we rarely get paired against each other.
White had just grabbed a "poison pawn" with 29. Qxb7?? which allowed 29...Rxe2+! removing the defender of the f3 pawn and winning a piece.
After 30. Qb8+ Kh7 if White recaptures with 31. Rxe2 Qxf3 threatens mate on g2 and f1.
For example: 32. Re1 Qg2# or 32. Be3 Qf1#
Happy Tactics!
