If you have been reading my stuff for a while, you know that I am a big fan of chesscafe.com.
From Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ChessCafe.com:
ChessCafe.com is a website that publishes endgame studies, book reviews and other articles related to chess on a weekly basis. It was founded in 1996 by Hanon Russell, and is well known as a repository of articles about chess and its history. It contains about twenty columns, each of which appears monthly. They are staggered so that about five new columns appear each Wednesday. The authors include some well-known chess players and instructors, such as Yasser Seirawan, Dan Heisman, Mark Dvoretsky, Susan Polgar, and Tim Harding. Previous contributors include Tony Miles, Tim Krabbe and Lev Alburt. Chesscafe.com is currently having its 2012 "Book of the Year" contest at http://www.chesscafe.com/Reviews/botyr1.htm.
I am honored that Tactics Time! 1001 Chess Tactics
from the Games of Everyday Chess Players (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009TBYA7U) is a candidate for Book of the Year, and would love your vote!
If you would like to vote for Tactics Time, send an e-mail to info@chesscafe.com and tell them that you would like to nominate the book for chess book of the year.
There are two rounds of voting. The first round (this one) narrows it down to three candidates. Then a second round of voting determines the winner.
If there is another book that you liked better or that helped your chess game, I certainly won't be offended if you vote for that, and if there is a book that was written in 2012 that isn't on the list that you feels deserves to be on the list, you can nominate that book as well.
I don't want to anyone to "stuff the ballot box" or anything like that. Some people, like my friend Jeff Baffo who grew up in Chicago, consider this to be a "standard operating procedure" :-)
Just vote (once) for whatever book you liked the best that was written in 2012, and if you liked TT1001, I would appreciate your vote!
Thanks!
